Zero X Tempa T – Watch The Skank

May 24, 2024

Inspired by aclassic viral clip of Tempa T MC’ing in his Ayia Napa hotel room from 2008, “Watch The Skank”marks a long-awaited return for the Grime legend to the forefront of rave culture, with his distinctive vocals and pace bringing maximum energy to match the tear-the-house-down speed-garage backdrop.

In recent years, UK-based Zero has established himself as a pioneer of the modern bass music scene with his signature sound of pounding four-to-the-floor percussion and speed-garage sensibilities, his penchant for proper bassline is a perfect match for Tempa T’s ferocious bars.

Paying homage to underground UK culture, this link-up was a no-brainer, and evolving from the nostalgic inducing viral video to an enormous club cut, “Watch the Skank” is already popping off on TikTok, set to be a summer club and festival smash.

The man behind UK underground anthem “Next Hype”, UK Grime MC Tempa T is renowned for his lyricism and speed; flitting easily from the excitable and playful wordplay – notably on his 2008 single “Shell” – through to cut-throat, fiery bars found on tracks including Chase & Status’ “Hypest Hype”.

Fresh-faced but with a sound that’s deeply rooted in bassline, dance, and UK rap heritage, rapidly rising and internationally touring bass music DJ / producer Zero is one the most exciting acts to ascend in recent years. Carving out his name with heavy-hitting originals and club-destroying edits, with headline touring across UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and forthcoming in North America, he’s becoming a key player and is working hard to keep bass music, dubstep, and UK rap sounds more forward thinking than ever. Together, Tempa T and Zero perfectly blend new-gen ideas and old-skool flavour.
