Highlighting the influence of sound system culture on UK music and community, there’ll be a serious agenda of talent from the worlds of drum & bass, dubstep, rap, grime, reggae, uk techno, RnB, soul, jungle and everything in between. On board for what promises to be an epic live performance are Fabio and Grooverider, who team up the Outlook Orchestra to deliver a history of jungle and drum & bass unlike you’ve heard before, curated by the godfathers of DnB. UK Rap icon Ghetts also joins, fresh from his third studio album Conflict of Interest which ranked no. 2 on the UK Albums chart, and featured guest appearances from Skepta, Dave, Wretch 32, Giggs, Stormzy, and more. Other live acts to catch include soulful duo Children of Zeus, grime godfather D Double E, Novelist, Gentleman’s Dub Club, Eva Lazarus and more TBA.

Skream makes a long-overdue return with a Skreamizm takeover. Hessle Audio returns to Outlook, marking their 15 years in the game with a stage takeover packed out with label friends and family. Also repping for the welcomed return of UK techno and electronic sounds to Outlook Festival are Ilian Tape andTimedance with their retrospective crews including Batu, Danielle, Stenny, the Zenker Brothers, Tasha and more.

A deep respect for sound system culture was the motive to start Outlook, and 2022’s UK edition pays homage to that with a series of Jamaican sound system clashes scheduled across the weekend featuring Channel One, Iration Steppas, Jah Shaka, Jah Tubbys World System and Mungo’s Hi FI in the Subdub Arena as well as additional sound from Sinai. The energy is guaranteed to be unparalleled as these mighty groups battle it out with hosts of MC’s and full squads in tow. Hot Wuk are also in attendance with an army of dancers and a bag of carnival sounds; dancehall, reggae, dembow to start.

For the drum & bass and jungle fans, there are plenty of serious names involved including a Metalheadz label takeover featuring Goldie and a heap of label talent. On a soulful tip, there’s selections from Calibre, Lenzman, LTJ Bukem, and DRS (live), while Bristol’s Sofa Sounds represent with friends Breakage, DLR, Fox, Kyrist, Skeptical and more. On a jungle tip Rupture will be celebrating 15 years with Sherelle, Mantra, DJinn, Sully, and more in tow, while EQ50 and Dynamics represent rising talent, there’ll be healthy doses of 140 from the usual suspects; Mala’s Deep Medi crew (TBC); Commodo, Silkie, Somah, Sicaria Sound, and more, SGT Pokes Croydub with a heavyweight b2b session featuring Youngsta, CImm, J Oh Zee, Oneman, Trends and more, Om Unit, J Sparrow and many others also provide doses of bass weight.

Outlook’s very first UK edition will take place 30th June–3rd July 2022 at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire. As well as the quality crews, collectives, artists, MCs, singers, rappers, labels, there’ll be a hyper-focus on audio, with only the highest spec sound systems in place to soundtrack the weekend. There will be an additional focus on presenting talks, workshops, film, and panels that deep dive into education as well as the roots of the culture. Accommodation options on site will vary, but there will be camping available on site. For more information, head to the Outlook Festival website
