Delhi-based hip-hop DJ duo MadStarbase return to the soundsphere with brand new single “Element” in collaboration with Jamaican-born producer David Marston.
One of many collaborations between the two artists, “Element” proves to be a euphoric UKG-inspired summer anthem. Born in the heart of a vibrant London summer, the track serves up a playful fusion of lively jazz keys, a robust and groovy bassline and shimmering synth lines. Soulful vocal samples weave through rhythmic 2-step drums, evoking the energy of UKG classics while injecting a fresh, buoyant vibe.
Speaking on the new track, MadStarBase stated: ““Element” is the perfect soundtrack for sun-soaked days and nights, offering a stimulating lift of energy and euphoria.”
MadStarBase, consisting of Anant Ahuja and Neal Sekhri, have made a significant mark on the Indian music scene over the past few years, making waves primarily with their Mollywood brand (remixes of iconic and popular silver-era retro Bollywood and desi tracks) of which they have three series so far. From their most popular track “First Kiss”, alongside Sik Vik and RiSK (over 418K Spotify streams and counting), to more recent singles such as “Zelda” and “Fsho”, the Indian duo continue to bring their unique blend to an international audience and celebrate India’s rich cultural heritage and modern musical landscape.
Having made their coveted Boiler Room debut last year in Goa and coming fresh from a recent Apple Music Mix, MadStarBase continue to platform their innovative sound with an exclusive performance at the Indian Olympic House in Paris this month, as part of a series of cultural showcases which aim to provide a platform for Indian artists to display their talent on one of the biggest global stages. With plenty more releases on the horizon, MadStarBase’s expertise marks them as a versatile and multi-disciplinary talent. Continuing to evolve in sound and vision, 2024 looks to be another milestone year for the Dehli-based pair.
