Tim Lyre X Minz – Tighter

Rising Afro-fusion artist Tim Lyre enlists breakthrough singer Minz for their collaboration, ‘Tighter‘.

The multi-instrumentalist, singer, rapper, and producer has been tipped by Tidal and Audiomack this year as one of Africa’s artists to watch, and drops his third single from his forthcoming EP, MASTA, out on 15th November. Produced by long-time collaborator DaRe, ‘Tighter‘ sees both artists unite effortlessly and navigate themes of sensuality, love, and lust. Speaking on the single Lyre said:

“Tighter is baby-making music. This is for you and someone special. It’s like an Afrobeat slow jam with dancehall sprinkles. DaRe made a crazy beat as usual, we recorded and sent to Minz and he took it to the finish line. Special banger.”

Tim Lyre has been making music from a young age, trained in classical piano; he also plays the Guitar, Organ, and Bass. He is best known for his acclaimed debut album ‘Worry’released in March of 2022, a project which instantly cemented itself as a cult classic in the Alté scene.  His music always showcases his profound versatility, taking in elements of Hip-hop, Dancehall, Amapiano, R&B, and Afrobeats through his afro-futurist gaze. Lyre’s forthcoming EP ‘MASTA’was created between his hometown of Lagos and his acquired home in London. ‘Chasing Wind’and ‘Confess’ both taken from the project have developed an appetite for more music and garnered over one million streams, with support from TRACE Africa, MTV Base, BBC Radio 1Xtra and The Beat. So far in his musical journey, Lyre has collaborated with Prettyboy DO, Lex Amor, MOJO AF, and Lady Donli with more on the way.

On his latest single Lyre he has teamed up with Minz, who is best known for his hit single, ‘WO WO’ which was remixed this year by BNXN and Blaqbonez and created a colossal moment with the remix reaching the Top 10 of Apple music’s top 100 songs in Nigeria.
