While Samm and Kirby collaborated on the song in the studio, they delved into the mindset of someone navigating personal struggles. ‘Fade’ encapsulates the urge to choose avoidance as a coping mechanism, mistakenly believing it’s the right path. It portrays the repercussions of not confronting the underlying issues and clinging to what no longer nurtures you. The video offers a birds-eye perspective of an icy couples therapy session, featuring a cameo appearance of the blue notepad that will undoubtedly become more prominent in the weeks ahead.
