On the remix, Sofia ramps up the tempo and showcases her love of intricate percussion and colourful, textured house music. Drawing inspiration from her chosen city’s rich dance music culture, she channels the euphoric, early-hours moments in clubbing institution, Panorama Bar, when the shutters draw and let the light in – a goosebumps moment for those in the know.
In her own words, Sofia says, “Working on the Quantic remix was a lot of fun, I imagine people dancing in the Panorama Bar waiting for the curtains to go up and let the daylight in for a few seconds. Magic”
Reminiscent of early Strictly Rhythm and Masters at Work releases, the remix is primed for summer festivals and heady dancefloors. Two artists with innate musicality, known for their warm, rich sounds – deeply inspired by Latin American music and culture – the remix shines a light on Quantic’s A&R hand and paves the way for further announcements and a special project yet to be announced.
UK-raised, Brooklyn based songwriter, musician, producer and sound engineer, Quantic (a.k.a Will Holland) is a true original. With a discography spanning two decades, from focused solo productions and intimate collaborations to expansive ensemble projects, his reputation is forged on how he engages with local scenes and cultures around the world. Diving deeper into his electronic soundboard – ever adapting to his influences and environment – his recent album, Dancing While Falling (Play It Again Sam, 2023), marked yet another step in his evolution. Enlisting Sofia Kourtesis for the first LP remix, he continues to blend global sounds with rich electronics and pop sentiments while diving deeper into the expanse of his electronic offerings.
