Monday Was Special – Bespoke

West-london based multidisciplinary artist Monday Was Special, releases his stunningly emotive debut single “Bespoke”.

Telling the story of a young black couple as they grapple with unplanned parenthood, “Bespoke” is an emotional masterpiece. As the track opens guitar chords lay the foundation for mws’s vulnerable lyrics, perfectly placed riffs and natural vibrato. Influenced by the R&B and soul that he grew up listening to, steady drum loops keep the pace as the track builds and powerful choirs of backing vocals and harmonies dance across the beat.

Delving into the meaning behind the video, Monday was special explains:

“The video explores the themes of birth, death and separation through references to ancient mythology. It’s split into three acts, with each linking to different greek and roman goddesses. Act 1 features Urania (associated with universal love and the Holy Spirit), Act 2 features Hera and Juno (goddesses of women, marriage, family and childbirth) and act 3 features Artemis and Diana (goddesses of childbirth and midwifery). The track is dedicated to my late mother, another strong women and the most influential figure in my life.”

Spanning his work across music, photography and film the rising talent has already built up a name for himself within London’s artistic scene. Already receiving critical acclaim for this photography work and working with leading creatives within music, Monday was special is stepping into the limelight and carving his own path in an industry craving true authenticity.
