The concept and design is by Clayton Wright, founder of Little Gay Brother, Feel It and Body Movements. The design was inspired by his faggy-festival-roots, and the need to reclaim words that have been previously used to hurt us and our community.
In his own words, Clayton says
“FAGGOTRY means… “fabulous and faggy behaviour”. It’s literally living in your own queer magic. At school, we were always the faggots, the outcasts, the dirty little queers… these words can no longer hurt us, because today, we own them. We’re proud to be those Queers. Those Faggots! Being a Faggot today is a brave and beautiful act. And, Faggotry is our QUEER expression. Faggotry is queer excellence.”
