We’re looking at a genre crossing album here
With a nickname as prestigious as “the UK’s Herbie Hancock”, you’d be right to think that there is something special about Kaidi Tatham.
This unique creative was dubbed that for a reason. Celebrated as one of the originators of the broken beat sound, Kaidi’s musical touch can be heard on projects from acts such as Bugz In The Attic and DJ Jazzy Jeff. Accompanying these projects are numerous studio sessions with likeminded acts such as Slum Village, Amy Winehouse and Soul II Soul.
Now in the present and Kaidi has landed with his third studio album in hand. Titled ‘An Insight To All Minds’, Kaidi unearths all the sounds that are relatable to him and his previous work, adds his unique sauce to it and has created a body of work most will love when digested.
We champion music which has no set barriers. Projects that carry genre bridging sounds will always get audio attention. ‘An Insight To All Minds’ is a sweet melodic blend of many genre’s.
The beginning of the project starts with ‘Try N Follow’. This track gives off an upbeat jazz vibe, something to get your musical juices going.
Electro House sounds come in next as ‘Intergalactic Relations’ sees Kaidi bring out a totally different sound to the previous track.
South American Latin vibes are what’s next on the project with ‘Carry It Mongo Man’. This shows us that Kaidi has assembled a diverse sound for the project.
As we venture through the album, it becomes evident there are many more sounds. A track titled ‘Rain’ brings out the Deep House vibes.
This is an impressive body of work capable of elevating moods and hitting the sweet spot in your ears. We expect this album to be a great addition to Kaidi’s already impressive catalogue of music and to be the benchmark for other artists who wish to travel through different genres on one project.
