Rapper’s rapper Jordy releases ‘PEAK!’, the second single taken from his forthcoming 6-track EP, ‘KMT’ dropping 25th May.
His final drop ahead of the project, ‘PEAK!’ sees Jordy retreat from the limelight and reflect on his journey by taking it back to the streets of London. Directed by Amanda Marie-Rose, the video includes appearances from his close-knit group of friends including; Elt Cheekz and members of the ViBBAR and Filthy Fella’s collectives. Jordy demonstrates his versatility by blending singing and rapping throughout to create his own signature sound. The video captures his effortless swagger and personifies his evolution from a rapper to a multidimensional artist who feels free to express himself both sonically and artistically. ‘PEAK!’ shines a light on Jordy’s honest lyrics and wordplay which, along with his friends and family, are at the forefront of everything he does.
Speaking on the single Jordy said:
“Peak is a pretty reflective song. Just me looking back on the journey from then till now. Thinking about what could’ve been, what was avoided, what was gained etc. It also touches on the harsh truth of people pretending to be your friend but hoping you don’t truly succeed which is more common now than ever”
The rising rapper rose to prominence due to his storytelling skills, and ability to leave you hanging onto every word. Over the years Jordy has become one of the most admired voices within the thriving UK rap scene and owns the title of every ‘rapper’s, rapper’. 2021 was a big year for the artist who dropped his critically acclaimed ‘SMH’ project and was dubbed ‘one to watch for 22’ from Complex, Hypebeast, and Wonderland whilst also selling out his headline show at Werkhaus.
Jordy is currently sitting on an abundance of new music that he is eager to share. He is redefining what it means to be a rapper with his infectious flows and hooks which set him apart in a congested scene. Refusing to slow down, he is focused on self-improvement and answering his critics the best way he knows how: releasing more music. He has an unwavering devotion to his craft, lacing his rhymes with humour and remaining remarkably consistent. ‘KMT’ is a rap-heavy continuation of ‘SMH’ and if the first two releases are anything to go by, Jordy’s fans are in for a lyrical treat.
