The sequencing in this album leaves you no option other than to not skip a track

Friend Within has been consistently delivering some really infectious music over the years. Before our makeover, we often championed his work on Solotoko. We used to receive these releases with a smile on our face and it was safe to say, Friend Within was never really below par with his shots.

His catalogue display’s some good sounds in the form of singles, EP’s and remixes. As well as some fun collaboration’s with other producers, Friend Within has built up a lengthy inventory of House music.

Friend Within has since been welcomed with open arms into the Toolroom family, dropping some gems on their label. With the reception to these joints being so positive, it was only right he let go his debut album on the label.

At first listen it seems it’s safe to say that the project and Toolroom go hand in hand. A distinguished House album on a music label who are appreciated mostly for their celebration of House music.

If you’re not familiar with the sound of Friend Within and delved head first into this album, you might get overwhelmed with the constant thumping of House Music. This is his sound and it has been produced at a high level but for newcomers, it might sound like a lot of noise at first. But don’t worry, take your time and break the album down. You will soon see that you were wrong.

The mood for the album is positioned correctly with the first track, ‘Holding On’. Giving off an old school feel with its’ smooth vocals and romantic strings.

For You’ was the single we heard prior to the album release. This one is a bit more up tempo and will get you onto the dance floor.

Another one from the project that will give’s off Dance classic is ‘Rola’. This Dance tune also gives off Electronic vibes and will be commanding people to dance floors when we can party outside.

There’s a load of bangers to unpack and that noise will turn into appreciated music at the end. A great debut album released by Friend Within.
