New York drill powerhouse Fivio Foreign finally drops off his highly-anticipated mixtape titled Pain & Love 2.

The tape comes hot on the heels of recent singles “Get Deady” alongside rapid-riding NY drill collective 41, and “Same 24” featuring US legend Meek Mill, featuring ten sonically unique soundtracks alongside some of world’s hottest talent including Lil Tjay, Swae Lee, Vory, Popcaan, Meek Mill, Sheff G and Rowdy Rebel.

The ten-track body of work finds Fivio at the apex of his mic prowess, setting the tone with opener “WHO KNEW” whereby over propulsive production launches into an upbeat flow, culminating on a chantable chorus. In a moment of introspection, he muses, “Boy, I done got rich off of living my hobbies, I don’t know how I do it. This shit is inside me.” On the other end of the spectrum, he unleashes an ominous banger in the form of “CLUTCH.” With the track, he ushers in another era for the drill movement, bodying a glitchy beat with a breathless cadence. As the bass bumps, he reaches out to his faithful audience, “Shout out to the fans that’s waiting for Fivio to drop, I tell ‘em to be patient.” Elsewhere, Popcaan elevates “THE BEST” with a sultry dancehall beat, and Rowdy Rebel gets raw on the piano-laden “PAIN PRESSURE.” From heavier drill sounds to more nuanced and deeper tracks, the tape is a masterclass in contemporary drill and rap, continuing to cement Fivio’s legacy as one of the hottest US artists right now.

Fivio Foreign continues to be a key part of US cultural conversations, having featured on Kanye West’s DONDA with his iconic verse in “Off The Grid” – the track accumulating a colossal 220M US streams alone with a cool 22M+ in the first week, as well as earning Fivio his first GRAMMY nomination – whereas key features on tracks by Kanye, LilTjay (“Headshot”) and Polo G (“Clueless” ft. Pop Smoke) have helped garner Fivio coverage across the likes of FINANCIAL TIMES, THE INDEPENDENT, COMPLEX, BILLBOARD, NME, TIME, GQ, HYPEBEAST and ROLLING STONE.

Fivio’s full length project B.I.B.L.E (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) served up seventeen high-octane tracks featuring a slew of heavyweight US talent including the likes of KayCyy, A$AP Rocky, Polo G, Chloe Bailey, Lil Yachty, DJ Khaled, Lil Tjay, Yung Bleu, Queen Naija, Ne-Yo, Blueface, Vory, Coi Leray and more.

The Brooklyn king of drill already boasts some of the most heavyweight bars in the game, featuring on Drake’s “Demons”, Lil Tjay’s “Zoo York”, featuring the late Pop Smoke and Nas’ “Spicey” alongside A$AP Ferg – a marker of how highly the young rapper is already rated by his established peers. Also dipping his foot across the pond appearing on Tion Wayne and Russ Millions’ UK #1 smash “Body (Remix)” — totalling a cool 317M streams and counting on Spotify, it would become GRM DAILY’s most viewed video ever.

Continuing to provide us with the most authentic, compelling sounds emanating from New York, Pain & Love 2 underlines Fivio’s legacy as a true national icon and one of the hottest rappers in the world right now.
