Following on from a momentous kick-off last season and a Radio 1 Dance ‘Best UK Clubbing Event’ Award nomination under their belt False Idols are back at DRUMSHEDS on Saturday 13th April.

A brand new movement with a rebellious manifesto, a party built with new energy and creative consciousness. They aim to challenge our beliefs with style, craft a new tribe under the lights and lasers on the dancefloor –  a new wave of harmonious hedonism for the queer community and all. Headlining the second instalment of False Idols will feature heavyweights such as Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sonique, Princess Superstar, Bimini, horsegiirL, MNEK (DJ Set), ABSOLUTE., BASHKKA and FAFF to name a few taking over the X Room, Y Room and Z Room.

Masterminded by the teams behind Broadwick Live (Printworks, Drumsheds, Field Day) Little Gay Brother, and Percolate, False Idols’ first instalment dazzled attendees providing an incomparable experience in a space centered around innovation. Demonstrating exactly what happens when cutting-edge production and fierce talent collide. 

Taking place across DRUMSHEDS’ vast industrial space, each room will be transformed into a pleasure palace where guests can groove to a selection of the finest dance music the scene has to offer. 3 different worlds providing 3 very different experiences. The impressive X ROOM aka THE TEMPLE, a place where those can worship music in its proudest form.Y Room aka THE ORACLE will be home to some of the world’s most highly demanded selectors and producers from the scene. ORACLE definition – A) A person giving wise or authoritative decisions or opinions. She became an oracle of pop culture. B) An authoritative or wise expression or answer. Just like its name alludes to the programme will cook up a sizzling buffet of artists favoured on dance floors across the globe. Z Room, nicknamed FOOLS GOLD, is a homage to all things fun and free, queer and fabulous, dressy and with a ballroom influence. A space for the highest quality music without taking itself too seriously. For this act of False Idols, the caged room will be a hub for some of the most notorious names from the underground scene. 

Headlining we have the disco queen Sophie Ellis-Baxter and support Princess Superstar. The two have had a cult resurgence ahead of the scandalous Saltburn making movements beyond the charts insighting nostalgia across the world. Their viral presence makes them a highly anticipated performance for the day’s proceedings.  

Also reviving the past, ‘It Feels So Good’ chart-topper Sonique will be a part of the highly anticipated False Idols ceremony laying down her striking vocals across the space with the luminous Little Gay Brother dance squad and Feel It resident Joshua James. Another icon on the billing that needs no introduction is Chicago house titan, Derrick Carter. Regarded as one of the best DJs underground house music has to offer, it’s a guarantee his set is gonna be enchanting. 

Embodying the true spirit of False Idols, the internet sensation proving to everyone its ‘Her Barn, Her Rules’ horsegiirL will also be joining the festivities bringing her tenacious donk and techno to the ball. Drag Race UK icon Bimini will be bringing their punk rebellion and sass to the stage for a jaw-dropping performance. The House of Trash head honcho has been a pop culture icon since winning everyone’s hearts on the BBC. Just like when Princess Julia took the crowd by storm delivering a special moment to takeaway in forgotten queer language Polari, we can only wonder what False Idols has in store for those who dare to indulge this time round. Other sets to look forward to include Hannah Diamond, MNEK (DJ Set) and Self Esteem (DJ Set).

Hard house extraordinaire ABSOLUTE. will be bringing his high-energy sonics to the room alongside Berghain mainstay BASHKKA, accelerating guests with full-throttle techno. From down under CC:DISCO! will be turning up the heat at with her playful, romantic, pumping, disco, house and electronic. Queer talent at its finest, Cormac will also be bringing his high energy, dark and spikey disco to the community. With releases on top-notch labels such as Planet Euphorique, FAFF brings everything you want and more! Expect nothing less than sexy dance anthems, organ house and trancey progressive sonics. Someone who is a pleasure to see on every queer lineup, Roi Perez is also joining the divine chaos premiering the best house and techno from around the world. Other artists include Jennifer Cardini, Narciss, Planning To Rock and Tom Rasmussen.

Adonis residents J.Aria and Hannah Holland will be showing up with record boxes full of heat for the occasion. The award-winning Queer House Party co-founder and resident Harry Gay will also be pushing boundaries with some of the most gagworthy club edits on offer. The critically acclaimed Pxssy Palace are gearing up to put everyone in a death drop. Sets to also look forward to include Electrowerk big and beefy gay party pioneer King James Lee from the mighty Roast and Luigi Di Venere b2b Stathis.

Alongside all of the showstopping music, expect the usual suspects accompanying the grand scale lineup and production. Lawless Agency and Little Gay Brother will be presenting all of their dancers and fan favourites strutting their fabulousness across the 3 spaces. Last year turning up for the likes of the Sugababes, Shygirl, Josh Caffé, and Saoirse b2b Job Jobse the community came out in full force and style for the day-into-night session. Following the theme of collective consciousness and belonging, the second False Idols will open its arms once again with yet another awe-inspiring brigade of names with loads of tricks and surprises up their sleeve.

Set to be a sell-out False Idol’s second edition will be once again be curated in part by the Broadwick Live team, along with the teams behind Little Gay Brother and Percolate. Behind some of London’s most successful parties in their respective worlds, this is an iconic meeting of minds to create a new realm of inclusivity, diversity and divine celebration. Broadwick is driven to create real impact through pure yet powerful live experiences in unique spaces that are home to communities and cultures. Located in North London’s industrial Meridian Water zone, which is only 4 mins from Tottenham Hale (Victoria Line) DRUMSHEDS will be easily accessible via tube, rail and buses.
