Beyond Noise had the pleasure of having a conversation with The Manor. With a brand new music video ‘Swazz’ and an upcoming tour (Tickets Here), get into the minds of the lads and find out a bit more about The Manor.
So break down for us, who are The Manor?
The Manor is a group of geezers that represent modern multi cultural Britain with an old school no nonsense attitude. Our only objective is to throw the best parties and make the best music this countries ever seen.
How did you guys come together?
We came together a few years back randomly, years after going to the same college. After a night getting pissed and with the aid of a CD full of Scotty Stacks cousins production we’d written our first song about fancying your best mates girlfriend, we haven’t looked back since.
We are feeling your latest track, ‘SWAZZ’. How did the track and video come together?
Swazz came together during a session with Splurgeboy Tee where he showed us the beat. Stacks and Graft put a load of bars down and sent it to Dutch who wrote the hook instantly. Probably one of the fastest songs we’ve ever made.
What is your favourite ‘The Manor’ track?
Favourite manor track personally is Brixton to Bow or Dean Gaffney.
If you guys could do an album and tour with anyone, who are you choosing?
Would love to go on tour with ASAP Rocky as I’ve heard he has the best groupies.
Would love to do an album with Jamiroquai, Paul Weller, Fatboy slim, or MJ Cole however as I feel they’ve made some of the greatest British music I’ve ever heard.
Seeing you was on tour with The Streets. How was the tour and did you get any gems from Mike Skinner?
Going on tour with mike we learnt a lot. Mike takes his craft very seriously so even tho we had a laugh we realised to put on a decent show every night you can’t go out every night and get battered, not that it stopped us! All jokes aside it was a great honour and going on tour with our hero lived up to all expectations..
We see you’re to headline the Brixton 02 Academy. How exciting is this for you guys? (are tickets still available as I live local and need to hear some sick music live lol)
Headlining Brixton is the biggest moment of our lives. As proud south Londoners headlining the most historic music venue south of the river is as big as it gets. There’s a handful of tickets left, literally about 200 as this interviews being conducted but as it’s been such a nice interview I’ll try and sneak you on the guest list.
After the headline show, what is the next stop for The Manor?
Next stop after Brixton we’re gonna be releasing the album of the year, smashing the festival season and gearing up to hit your TV screens with our own show at some point in 2020.
