For those who do not know, who is George Kwali?

I’m a 23 year old Producer and DJ from Brighton.

What 5 words best describe your sound?

Fast Music Made By George.

For us, ‘All On Me’ with Kideko is one of our favourite tracks, period. What is your favourite George Kwali produced track?

Probably my track ‘Know That’ that came out earlier this year on Gorgon City’s label Realm Records. I really like the sound of the bass with the piano in that track and I think its got a good breakdown.

We had the pleasure of listening to the incoming EP, ‘Down Like That’. You have two dance floor fillers there! What made you go with these particular sounds’ with the tracks on this EP?

Recently I’ve been trying to work without thinking too much about the sounds that i’m using in a track and concentrate more on the groove and feel. For this track in particular I was just messing about on my Moog sub 37 until I made that lead sound and then built on it using delays.

We see the EP will be released on Hannah Wants’ Etiquette label. We love Hannah Wants. How did this decision come about?

I’ve been a fan of Hannah since I saw her play at Hideout festival in 2014. After I made the track I had a think about who might play a track this style and she immediately came to mind. I just hit her up on Instagram and sent her the tracks, she said she liked them and wanted to sign them.

What software does George Kwali use in the studio?

I use Logic as my main DAW, occasionally make sounds in Reason and bounce them across and Ableton to test out drums and loops before I add them to logic (I saw this in a Latmun production tutorial video).

What has been your favourite place to perform?

The most fun I’ve had at a club was probably at Egg in London, I played there a year or so ago and I remember having such a sick time. Other than that Amnesia in Ibiza is a definite highlight for me.

Who would George Kwali want to work with in the future?

Skream, he’s been my favourite DJ for a long time now.

What is the next step for George Kwali in 2020?

Lots more music, I need to solidify my sound and earn my stripes.
