Beyond Noise had an exclusive chat with DJ Vice about his recent track with Estelle, US Tour & being signed to Ultra Music.

So tell us more about the release with Estelle. What were your Influences behind the track?

This track was over a year and a half in the making. After 15 versions of Bright Lights, I finally came to what we have now and couldn’t be any happier with this track! Estelle has always been on my vocal bucket list and she came through on this song. It’s pretty evident that I was on my 90’s house vibe with this song….think CeCe Peniston- Finally!

What was Estelle like to work with?

To be completely honest we still have not met in person. This track was all done via emails and yet it still feels so natural!

The track has a distinct style, how would you describe your production style?

I’m on my 90’s house party vibe with this track. I grew up listening to radio dance artists like Crystal Waters, Robin S, Black Box and so many others. That era brings back all the feel good memories of my childhood… That’s the vibe I wanted to achieve with “Bright Lights.”

Your release is getting a lot of love. Why do you think people have got behind the track?

Because it’s dance music you can actually DANCE to!

We’ve heard some amazing remixes from you recently is there anyone specific you would like to work with or do a remix for?

If Outkast ever gets back together please call me! haha! Honestly I am a fan of what feels good at the moment my life is at. Overall, I am in a good place with life right now and that reflects on whom I work with. I was just in the studio with Kelly Rowland cutting vocals and she was on my vocals bucket list as well – I’m on a good roll.

You’re currently on a US Tour venue’s are you most looking forward to playing at?

I’m blessed to play at all the top venues in the U.S. I’m looking forward to expanding outside of the states and going more global. The music will take me there….

You’ve recently been signed by Ultra House, how did that come about?

Off the success of my first single “The World Is Our Playground.” I released the record independently and they took notice to the amount of major radio airplay it was receiving. I put a lot of work into my songs even after they are released – labels take notice to that.

Now being under the Ultra House Label what should we expect from Vice?

More and more feel good music. I don’t want to set a limit on what genre I am going to be releasing because I have never been about that. I want to be able to play a full DJ set covering almost every genre and have produced on each track…goals!

What should we expect from Vice for the rest of the year?.

Releasing more music, Taco Memes on Instagram, Snapchat travel stories and random nonsense, changing diapers since I just had a newborn daughter, running a half marathon and playing a shit ton of shows in between all that.

Should we expect the same sound for your next release?

Never expect the same sound from me – same as my DJ sets… all over the place!
