A celebration, filtered through experience and growth.

There is something powerful about hearing a true pioneer step into the sound they helped shape and rather than replay the past, they attempt to breath new life into it.

Donae’o has been revisiting some of our music loved UK Funky classics and adding his own evolved touch to them, while preserving the spirit that made said tacks timeless.

The unmistakable swing that defined these classic tracks are still present. However, the production feels fuller, warmer and more refined.

Donae’o choosing to do this also carries a certain authenticity that can’t be manufactured. Donae’o is a pioneer of this genre and has an innate understanding of the grooves, pockets and other elements these tracks possess. Donae’o putting his spin on these classics feels natural and not trend chasing.

This is a reminder of how influential UK Funky House was and how adaptable it is today.
