Di-Vincent explores toxic affirmations across his new UKG cut “Jealous”
Effortlessly bridging the gap between inner-city rap and the ecstatic resurgence of UK garage, the East London creative continues to define himself as a standout prospect across his latest offering “Jealous”. Dextrous and sharp from the offset, Di-Vincent expertly utilises an eerie falsetto while floating across rough-edged Rhodes and choppy neo-garage percussion. He pleads an intense lust for an exciting love interest before sharply reverting to a cadence where he’s most comfortable and potent – a complex juxtaposition for young people finding solace across their creative and ethereal journeys. Paired with a chilling music video manoeuvring through Central London, Di-Vincent continues to embody the pace and disorientation of youth culture, quickly marking the rising talent as one of the most exciting artists across the UK landscape.
Speaking on the record, Di-Vincent mentions: “ ‘Jealous’ is about realigning my focus and steering clear of negative thoughts and influences. Along the way, encounters with those lacking genuine intentions are almost inevitable – a facet of life’s complexities. ‘Jealous’ emerges as my coping mechanism, helping me navigate this intricate dance.”
Since debuting in 2019 with his infectious record “World Is Yours”, Di-Vincent has been steadily perfecting his artistry, producing, writing and performing his songs across the underground before his musicality started to resonate on some of the biggest stages across European rave culture. Collaborations with pioneering talent including Bengali heritage artist Surya Sen and multidisciplinary talent Manni Dee catapulted Di-Vincent onto centre stage, gaining key play time at Hör Berlin, TAAHLIAH’s Boiler Room Live and Daniel Avery’s set at Glastonbury 2022 before solidifying his presence with performances at London’s XOYO, The Jazz Café and the icon Printworks.
Returning to the ether in 2023 after a standout year, the rising producer and vocalist delivered his explosive UKG single “Near Miss” – his first release newly signed to Eton Messy Records as the iconic electronic label’s first-ever rapper. A captivating moment for both artist and label, the electric, monochrome music video gained swift acclaim from key tastemakers incl. WONDERLAND, VIPER MAGAZINE, GUAP, BBC INTRODUCING, RINSE FM and more.
With his incendiary mixtape SKR (Sun Kiss Rain) confirmed to release this year, Di-Vincent’s truly high-calibre sound waves will no doubt continue his trajectory as one of London’s next breakout stars in the making.
