The music label announces its intentions to expand on their current streaming platforms by venturing out into the media stratosphere.

One name that has become connected to Dance and House music is the evergreen and much appreciated label, Defected Records.

It would be near impossible to speak on past and present House music without somehow bringing it back to the juggernaut known as Defected.

We use the term evergreen to describe the label as that is exactly what their reputation commands.

Whether or not music lovers were aware, for over two decades music lovers at Defected Records have made it their life assignment to deliver the highest quality of music for our audio enjoyment.

Due to the duration of which Defected has been operating, faltering at some point in time would seem like a conspicuous obstacle that would have occurred. However, it has not, Defected has maintained the freshness and likability of the label by consistently delivering great-sounding music to fans.

Sam Divine

Star Power

With star power on the roster combined with the music Defected has signed over the years, allowed for the label to be offered a designated stage at most festivals around the world. In addition to this glorious achievement, the label followed through with announced plans to tour the world.

This allowed for Defected to showcase the roster of DJs and Producers at their disposal and gave music lovers around the world the opportunity to share intimate moments with their favourite acts.

We personally have been a part of some of these achievements as Beyond Noise has had the opportunity to attend stages courtesy of Simon Dunmore at Defected. Witnessing the immense love DJs like Sam Divine received will be a memory we will never let go of.

With Defected mapping out their goals and achieving them, it seems the music label is ready to add to their trophy cabinet.

Earlier this week it was announced that Defected Records have plans to move into and progress in the broadcast media world. Defected will be proceeding with a new 24/7 channel dedicated to House Music titled, ‘Defected Broadcasting House’.

Set to launch on March 4th, Defected see this as an opportunity to construct a destination for fans of House music.

Defected have the intention of not only showcasing past club and festival sets from their immense arsenal but, they will be premiering new shows dedicated to House music hosted by names like Sam Divine and Monki.

Defected Broadcasting House will acts as an additional runway for House music lovers to walk down and discover new and existing music. Content will be available in different formats, meaning there is increased possibility that Defected recruit more fans as they have alternative ways to acquire and digest the music.

At the forefront of this project will be Tom Coxhead and recent recruit from BBC Radio 1Xtra, Sarah Beaumont.

A direct quote from Tom Coxhead sees him confess his goal for Defected Broadcasting House:

“The ultimate goal is to make it to the go-to place for house music lovers”

With this type of goal, you can understand why this is exciting times for house music lovers.

With Defected boasting an online community in excess of nine million and live stream events that surpassed fifty million attendees, it seems only appropriate to raise the levels and expand on the mediums already available to listen to House music.

All of us here will be waiting for March 4th to witness the premiere of Defected Broadcasting House.
