Following strongly from his acclaimed collaboration with Brixton‘s Santino Le Saint for “livin on the line.”, the Cloud X founder and executive producer Dabieh continues to flaunt his personal musical talents across “Gracie’s Therapy.”: sleek and melancholic at its core, the hypnotic production lays a perfect foundation for TS Graye’s falsetto which shines with intimacy. Her dream-like cadence contrasts tellingly with Dabieh’s moody synths and sharp percussive textures as they explore vulnerability and passion with an optimistic approach. Dabieh’s ability to capture and distil moments through his pensive, atmospheric soundscapes have overseen well over 300M streams and counting.
After spending years quietly sharpening his production, the Ghanaian native has cultivated a reputation as one of the most exciting young musicians across the underground landscape. With muses in the form of Rick Rubin, Pharrell and Jay-Z, his desire for developing infrastructure beyond music seen him empower pioneering talent in London and beyond.
In 2018, Dabieh and fellow originator Ben Cross founded the London-based music-entertainment company Cloud X – a record label and live music entity who have championed some of the most innovative voices emerging in London including the likes of A2, Kasien, Etta Bond, Kwaku Asante and Santino Le Saint. Quickly becoming a cultural hub for creatives across the music and fashion industries, Dabieh launched his own intimate music festival that saw performances from Lola Young, Knucks, Sainte, Juls and Sam Wise, while gaining critical tastemaker support from titles including i-D, WONDERLAND, THE BRITISH BLACKLIST, GUAP and NEW WAVE MAGAZINE – further underlining Dabieh as a leading voice for the new generation of talent representing fluidity and evolution throughout the creative arts.
Ahead of his hotly-anticipated project an awkward solitude. pt.1 dropping this summer, Dabieh feels like one of the most significant cultural innovators crashing into wider consciousness. With Cloud X revealing their largest festival to date this year, expect to hear and see a whole lot more from the experimental innovator who’s pulling strings across London’s most significant new cultural markers.
